9GAG is a meme-sharing website based in Hong Kong but hosted in the Us. Launching in 2008, the site's content is mainly a common repetition of many popular memes. History

On July 1st, 2008, Ray Chan and his brother Chris Chan launched 9GAG, starting it as a fun "side project."^[viii]

Feud with 4chan

Operation Deepthroat
